Where the fuck have I been?

I've been trying to find a new job, ass. How about you?

I had a date with the wife today. Dinner and a movie. There weren't any movies we wanted to see. Then the restaurant we planned to eat at wasn't open for lunch on Sunday. So we wen't shopping. How does that different from any other Sunday? We had a babysitter. During our 5 hour date we got more done than we would have in a whole day with a (cute and adorable and absolutely perfect in every way but still a dead weight when it comes to productivity) toddler along. We bought Mother's day presents for our moms and got groceries. We also went to World Market and bought a wok and a whole bunch of fun cooking ingredients. I got some "tipsy olives" with sake and ginger. Very tasty. We also picked up a bunch of semi exotic candy. It has been my opinion for many years that the Japanese make the best gummi candy in the world. I am proud to say my opinions are infallable, unlike my spelling. The Litchi Gummis we bought are super tasty. OOOOHHHH.... Do you guys remember Aero bars? I had them as a kid and really like them. They are something like a 3 Musketeers bar but the marshmallow-like substance in the middle is less whiped and has bubbles in it. Well they have them at World Market! They also have what I can only assume is a UK candy bar called Yorky which sports a "No Women" sign for the "o" as well as the subtitle "Not for girls." On the back it says "Do Not Feed The Birds"(hence the assumption that it is from the UK). Now the ingredients on this bar are no different than any other chocolate bar. It doesn't have testosterone or anything in it. It's just a chocolate bar. Is this a clever marketing invetion to sell chocolate to men by associating it with misogyny? You think? They have some really great tortilla chips there too. What are the characteristics of good tortilla chips? Well good tortilla chips are usually made by frying or baking tortilla "dough" rather than frying extruded triangles of masa (corn paste). Good toritilla chips usually come in a light proof bag, also. Ultra Violet light has a substantial negatice affect on the oils in the chips and therefore the flavor as well. A taste test Marcia heard during the Splendid Table" NPR show while driving back from Wisconsion consisted of a panel of expert judges. The judges were chefs, critics, interested laypeople, and the host, Lynn Rosetto Casper. They tried a huge array of bagged tortilla chips almost all of which were masa extruded chips (since the only way to get real tortilla chips is to have a deep fryer and deep fry some uncooked tortillas, generally). The winner, by far, of the taste taste were Dorito's Brand Plain Tortilla chips which, sadly, Marcia and I have only found for sale once here in Minnesota. It was determined that the reasoning for the superior chips from Dorito's was that the doritos bag was make of lightproof foil and subsequently the chips were uninundated with UV light. So when you go to World Market get the ones in the lightproof bag. They are good. I'm tired. I could blog more but I've already been to bed once and I got back up to write this while it was still in my head. Oddly enought the original point of this blog was the Aero and Yorky candy bar availability. Things change when you blog and watch Mythbusters simultaneously.
