I Hope Clone Wars...
is cool. I saw the trailer for it again at the movie theater tonight. It seems like it will fit the bill, although I'm a bit upset that not all of the original actors lent their voices to this project. I guess from the clone wars television shorts, maybe there is voice acting continuity from that, so who knows? The trailer does do enough to get me excited about the release though. For the love of god, no more jar jar binks!!!

i think Ewan Mcgregor(obi wan)has kinda tried to wash his hands with the prequel trilogy,he was such a big fan of the original trilogy(his uncle plays Wedge in the original trilogy..one of the few original death star destroyers who made it to the end of Jedi)but i know he was dissapointed with the prequels, and many a time has told in interviews that he is harrassed on the streets because of them..shame,i thought he did a good job as a young Alec Guinness
the cartoon looks good, although i am not sure why they chose to do the clone wars again as another cartoon,i have the first Clone wars cartoons on DVD(2 DVDs),and they are great...this new film could piss all over the old versions
the game for the Wii looks decent, but as its for the Wii i prolly wont get it(it takes a mega title like Zelda for me to buy a game for the Wii now)
metal, consider that you might be missing out. some of the non-mega titles for wii are pretty good. have you played boom blox?
played a few games on the Wii,until i got bored of the Wiimote...and ran out of space in the console(i have downloaded a lot of VC games and the Final Fantasy Wiiware game)
i haven't played that Boom Blox
i think Nintendo should of had the motion controls but also kept games that use a standard joypad, like all the other Nintendo's had
when it comes to games,i look at all 3 machines i have and 90 or so % i would rather have the 360 game that is out that week, very rarely does a PS3/Wii game make me rush out to buy
i was dissapointed with mario galaxy, although i liked Super Paper Mario and Resident Evil 4 on the Wii
i just get very bored with the motion controls, and when playing agame it makes me feel as though it is just a gimmick
when playing resident evil 4 everytime i came back to the game i had to re-learn the controls
the new motion control + that is coming out for the Wiimote looks like it will be a great add on...but hopefully they will make games that can really take advantage of the wiimote and not, like i said make it feel like a gimmick..when i have a choice i use the old gamecube controller(final fantasy my life as a king)
the Boom Blox i think is one of the steven spielberg titles isnt it?..not sure whether i would like it
to be honest i think that i am not one for the Wii at all,but i was at least expecting the type of games that was on gamecube or N64(i have had all Nintendos since the 80's,and the Wii is the first one i am dissapointed in)...i think Nintendo was aiming for a different audience altogether
sure its nice to do something different, but i feel as though i have been cut off ...but at least it plays gamecube discs with no problems(unlike the 360 and the PS3)
Force Unleashed comes out soon for all formats..and even though for the Wii you use the Wiimote as a lightsabre,it still isnt enough to pull me away from the 360 version
Bravo metal,
I do like your assessment of the video game world. I know some people that swear by the wii, but all the games I've played on that system do seem gimmick-y. I think nintendo has done a good job of pulling in the casual gamers, but there is definitely something lost to the hardcore gamer who is looking for more than wii sports.
The 360 still rules the roost IMO
there are wii games for hard core gamers but it is true that they aimed at casual gaming. i think you have to look at the wii from a different angle. i don't think gimmicky is the right term. if it were a gimmick the games would be one off publicity stunt shovelware. not that there are no wii shovelware titles. all consoles have shovelware. it's important to realize that, outside of first person shooters (and even that needs to be implemented properly... cod3 i'm looking at you) the wii remote doesn't add anything to the gaming experience. nintendo knows that some people won't like the wiimote experience in every game. you can play mariokart wii with a gamecube remote and the game is just as badass. nintendo isn't stupid. they are trying to make it worth a gamer's time to have a wii AND court the casual market. they have a built in fanboy base that ensures that, at the worst, the attempts at gamer oriented software won't be a complete failure. you play a wii when you want to just a have a little fun without getting too invested OR if you want play one of the excellent first party titles. mario galaxy was awesome, metal, and i don't know what kind of crack you are smoking. but if you're looking to get down and dirty you fire up the 360. the problem is that most guy's penis interferes with their brain and makes them think they want to get down and play some manly man murder game all the time OR yet another repetative winning 11-9 or madden match. just because your penis screams murder tackle kick better doesn't make it true. boom blox is fun and it's relaxed and yet still challenging and it doesn't need tits, blood, sports, ambiguous homoerotic imagery, or hd/surround sound to do it. i'm tired so i hope that all made sense.
i definetly know where you are coming from Whacks, the Wii is the most popular console at the moment...just i wanted a gamecube 2,lol
mario galaxy,i must of played about 6 or so hrs off and i realised..it was just little levels and seemed to be just different situations for the wiimote..once i started to think like that i got tired(although i admit some gravity defying levels/planets were cleverly done)...mario sunshine was much better IMO...i know Mario galaxy got massive scores,i think 97% was the average
also for the average Wii games, also take into account that i am on my own,i dont have family or friends to play with..again,i feel a majority of the games are exactly for that, family and friends, party games, which is why i mentioned that i didnt feel as though i fit in with the new Wii
and no,i am not bothered about whether the game is wholesome or not, like i say i loved super paper mario on the Wii..and that final fantasy game is more an addictive sim city game, not like other FF games(that i also love)
talking first person,i have been meaning to pick up metroid 3 for the Wii,but the first 2 were rock solid,so i kinda swerved away..heard its good though
the one thing right now Nintendo NEED to do is release a HDD addon, especially with Wiiware games now happening...and then if they release zelda majoras mask for the VC i can easily download that without deleting other games, which i dont want to do!!
