Gay does not equal predator!!!!!!!!
This story had an unexpected affect on me, today.
I began reading in glee expecting to be thrilled with the exposure of yet another hypocritical republican douche bag.
I was not, however, thrilled with what I read. This man is a State Representative in the state of Florida. There is no doubt that he has both volunteered for and been active in MANY different organizations. However, in a story about him being arrested for soliciting an exchange of oral sex for money (my thoughts on how undercover police prostitution busts cross over the line of entrapment notwithstanding) the only organizations the story's author thought fit to mention were the Little League and Boys and Girls club.
"Allen, is a former Little League volunteer who also donated time to the Boys and Girls Club, serving on its board of directors."
This is a perpetuation of a myth, I feel. Being gay does not make someone a child rapist, pervert, or pederast/pedophile. In fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, but statistically the overwhelming majority of pedophiles and even pederasts are straight. Some might say that's not saying much since the overwhelming majority of actual people are straight. However, I think there is some evidence to show that homosexuals are LESS LIKELY to engage in inappropriate sexual activity with a child.
Why do we allow this shit to go unchallenged?

effin effers! ok, just so you all know, they EDITED the story, so the quote of his time spent as a little league volunteer and boy scout whatever is no longer in there. i looked hi and low for that fucking sentence! so! onward ho!
anyway. fuckers. these are my redneck relatives. not actually cuz they couldn't write that well even if it was skewed.
but that is exactly the kinda shit that gets put in an email and spreads like wildfire thru countless mindless heads and hands and computers.
and ignorants go, "oh my gawd, sally, did you read about that little league guy who got arrested for soliciting sex?" but they never say that he wasn't volunteering at the time that the incident happened, and they never clarify that he wasn't soliciting a child, they just put those words into sentences and they get BULLSHIT. and they spread it. and then add shit like,
"And Barack Obama is a Muslim and he wants to be PRESIDENT!!" mother fuckers!!
i hate people. all in all, yet another example of the things that make me want to set the townsfolk on fire.
whackly did say that he figures he wasn't the only one who found something wrong with that article, and that's why they edited it. which i guess is good, cuz that means that there is at least one other person with a brain out there.
ahh, hope.
Also, did you ever notice how all these high profile gay busts, or pedophiles are Republican? I guess left wing gays have normal sex with consenting adults of their own orientation, or at least more often than their repressed as fuck counterparts.
