Voice Acting
Is a lost art. Just ask Billy West, or John Dimaggio, or any of the great voice actors who have a hand in so many projects most people don't even realize it. It's a travesty that the "In" thing to do is use these "CELEBRITY" voices to voice characters for movies... The name draws, but the voice acting can be horrendous...how many times do we need to hear Robin Williams Genie Impression reincarnated for the bazillionth time?
Anyway, this clip shows the Family Guy Cast voicing some of the show. Mila Kunis is really the only "celebrity" throw in on this show. Seth Green is in the show, but his voicing of Chris doesn't sound anything like Seth.

hell yes! i completely agree. screw the celebrity voices in the ear! why not use some actual talent, a person who has to change their voice to do it, we all can just talk. how is that impressive? loved the clips, btw. the chic who does lois is funny. and wasn't she on madtv? or is she still on madtv? isn't she ms. swan? love her!
as much as i agree 'mezzo about voice acting...you should not get Red Steel for the Wii(if you ever get one)..the voice acting is terrible for that
most cartoons i watch, have great voice acting, its one of the reason why the shows are hits...doesnt matter if a joke is funny,it becomes hilarious when done by the right voice
oh yeah, there has been something i wanna ask you guys
what is your favourite episode of futurama?....its just that i have been watching them again...and i have narrowed mine down to 3...mars university(ROBOT HOUSE!!!)...fry and the slurm factory....or amazon women in the mood
and frankles i agree with you on the girl who does Lois, she is good...shame family guy is prolly the one show i DONT like.....(i like stewie and brian..but thats it)
amazon women in the mood.... classic... basically my favorite episode is any episode with one or more of the following characters
1.Zap Brannigan
2.Mom
3.The Hypnotoad
If an episode has one of those three... it's my favorite... at least until the next one with one of those three comes on.
As far as my least favorite... the one with Zoidberg making a movie... it's crazy lame compared to the other episodes.
My Favorite Futurama episode is probably the "Alls Well That Roswell" Episode where Fry becomes his own grandpa. That one works on so many levels. But I agree with Whackly, that anything with Zapp Brannigan would be my second favorite, as he is the best secondary character in animated TV...
hmm,is that the one when he has his uncle 'harold lloyd similar name goes here'?
zapp branigan reminds me of troy mcclure from the simpsons....hmm,but funnier
branigans law.....say it Kif,branigans law
harold zoid.... cheap spoof of harold lloyd, who was actually funny.. harold zoid, though... not funny
still do.....although she is also in episodes of Lost right now...well season 2...as lockes girlfriend in the past
she aint that bad looking for ...er 52 years old

anyway....philip fry,is more or less just like me...but funnier...oh and stupider..is there such word as stupider?...there is a pretty good episode for leela/married with children...when she finds her soul mate(another alien with one eye...but turns out to be a doppleganger or something like that)
bender is cool, especially when he goes singing on tour...and he is supported by cylone and garfunkel..which is art garfunkel and a cylone from the old battlestar galatica....'Are you going to Scarborough Fair'
anyway...back on voice acting, the art is becoming more in demand for video games as well...billy west has been in a few......one of those vietnam games that came out for the xbox last year comes to mind
but recently,if you have played gears of war...the main character is called Marcus fenix,he is voiced by no other than John DeMaggio(bender)
on another note,if this new zelda game had voice acting in,i think it would be the best game in the history of best games....bit of a drag with next gen games, and i still have to read everything(even though i have subtitles on anyway because i am deaf...but thats not the point!!)
oh and 'mezzo, that episode.....come on,you cant blame fry,is grandma was hot!!
"why don't you bake me some cookies"...
"How about THESE cookies sugar!"
That episode is great.
Not just that plotline, but the one where zoidberg is getting the alien autopsy.
"Are you coming on to me? I'm not hearing a No...."
you know there are some famous names that are good voice actors... sagal isn't bad but she's using her regular voioce so i dunno if that counts or not.. you tell me. but robin williams, though annoying as all hell and kicking the dead horse of his tired schtick into glue, is actually a pretty good voice actor. so is patrick warburton and a few others i can thing of. there is also a lot of great voice acting on other shows lately. Adult Swim has really reinvigorated the voice acting art, i think. Dr. Orpheus, Brock Samson, Dr. Girlfriend, Hank, Dean, and the Monarch.. just a few of the very well acted characters on The Venture Bros. Alone. And let's not forget harvey birdman. In fact, for actors that are also good voice actors, think of Stephen Colbert's Phil Ken Sebben. Much of that is writing, not acting, but it's still hilarious. I miss Phil Hartman. There's some conjecture that he was the voice actor they had in mind for Zap Brannigan. That would have been cool, i guess, but If I had the choice to go back in time and not only stop his wife from killing him but also make him the voice of Zap I think I might refuse the second half of the mission. Billy West's Zap makes me laugh with every line. It might have been the same with Hartman, or even better... but it could have been worse too. Not worth the risk. Billy West is God. Lauren Tom, DiMaggio, West, Sagal, Welker... and all the rest... best voice cast ever. But there are some close seconds. All the squigglevision cartoons (Dr. Katz, Science Court, Home Movies - H. Jon Benjamin!) and The. Venture Bros, and Sealab (Sparks and Heche!!!) Maybe we'll be lucky and some of these people will get enough recognition to be famous in their own right.. so that studios making animated movies will be happy with the celebrity they bring and subsequently refrain from hiring Owen Wilson or some other Hollywood type without real voice acting skills. Yes I realize I didn't mention the simpsons... but they are in their own Universe... for good and bad
for me i think mel blanc will always be the best,i grew up watching all the warner bros merry melodies, bugs bunny, sylvester the cat, daffy duck, yosemite sam, pepe le pew,and it was great that he reprised all the characters again in who framed roger rabbit ...i think he died straight after that though
