Calling it!
Last week when I heard that Bush had replaced General Abizaid and his cohorts, and done a HUGE personnel shuffle (and did so on a day where the news was all about the swearing in of the new members of congress to keep it quiet) my first thought was "This is the first step in setting these poor people up as scapegoats for the failure of the Iraq war." I still think I'm right. So I'm letting y'all know. I'm calling it!

Well, he's still not listening to any of the generals that are there, so how the fuck can he actually blame them? Plus, the new strategy, is just an old one. He's a fucking putz, and needs to be impeached for lying to go to war with no plans to keep the peace. Saddam's dead, and the shit continues, so I guess he wasn't the problem after all. However, I am glad someone taped his death (I haven't watched it personally) but the last thing we need is for Saddam to become the new Elvis.
I thought it was funny how he replaced those generals last week allegedly because they weren't "feeling" his new plan but then Condi and Rumsfeld's replacement both cited Casey and Abizaid as being in favor of the surge of troops in their testimonies today. I'm not entirely sure that the troops surge is a bad idea. Regardless of how we got to where we are in Iraq we have to make the best of it. Condi was actually reasonable and persuasive in her testimony today. I have much more to say about this but the comments isn't the place. I'll probably bring it up with somebody like Mezzo over the phone and have a little rant to get it out of my system.
Saddam did have all those body doubles...
Plus, Bush doesn't fire people to make them scapegoats. He gives Congressional Medals of Honor to them.
