WTF Do I Do For The Poor Kitty??????????

Lao Tsu, the damned rat bastard, went and seriously fucked up his back paw.  It didn't get stepped on or smushed or anything.  As near as we can tell he either got a claw caught in something and it pulled out (which seems likely except the evidence doesn't support it) or he was doing that thing where cats bat at their claws trying to get that outer layer off... trimming them, I guess... and he got too rough with it and pulled it out.  That seems likely since there was a small pool of blood on our bed and then the scattered bloody footprints throughout the house and no evidence of the kind of struggle or violence you'd expect if it had gotten caught in something.  He seems relatively unbothered by it unless we try to clean it or inspect it.  Still, that can't be good.  It's the equivalent of pulling off your toenail right?  It actually looks worse than that.  We changed the cat litter right away and are planning to keep it super clean.  We cleaned up all the blood from all over the damned house.  I bought some pet wound care spray which must sting because he tried to run from it, shake it off, then attack it, and finally lick it off when we sprayed it on him the first time and he totally flipped out when we brought out the bottle the 2nd time.  I dunno what to thin about it.  It looks awful but it's scabbed up and he seems content.  It's clean and isn't continuing to bleed.  Should I just watch it for infections and keep it clean or should I take him to the vet?  Vet = $$$ but I love the cat and the money is well worth it if I thought it'd ease his suffering... but he doesn't seem to be suffering.  I just don't know.

see how it is in a few days,as long as your moggy isnt suffering

my cat is an indoor cat,and i have a Laminated floor downstairs, when it comes to the point that i can hear her tapping as she walks about, then i cut her claws(back and front)..you have to be very careful,as inside the claw, looks like another mini claw,i think its the nerve or something...and i have been told that if i catch that then the cat could bleed to death

so i have to be very careful and very slow when triiming her claws,Carrie(my moggy)doesnt help as she is always rolling about

i bought some Flea spray years ago,and she tried licking it off,and she started foaming at the mouth,LOL...i didnt think what it could be at first and thought i had the cat equivalent of Cujo in my house

he's actually ok. he did lose a lot of blood but it's scabbed up now... there's at least a piece of a claw left in there.. i think he was trying to pull out that outer part and ended up pulling out nearly the whole thing... it looked disgusting.. like a hole where his toe used to be. it's tender and he gets a little mad if i try to poke at it but it doesn't seem to be bleeding, infected, or bothering him at all. i'm still finding blood on the floor and walls around the house. damned cat toured the whole house after he started bleeding.
